The Franklin Pierce University women's volleyball team just wrapped up their opening weekend at day two of the Windjammer classic in Colchester, Vermont. Following the conclusion of the weekend, Annaka Lindstrom and Avery LeBlanc were named to Windjammer Classic All-Tournament team.
The Ravens began the day facing East Stroudsburg, who took the match in three sets (25-19, 25-19, 25-13). Jayne Hiatt, Avery LeBlanc, and Martina Spackova led the offensive push, with 19 collective kills, while setter Annaka Lindstrom put up 19 assists.Â
The Ravens fought hard in game two, taking the match to five sets after winning the first two (25-21, 25-23, 15-25, 22-25, 13-15) but ultimately falling to the Purple Knights. Koukia led the offensive push, with 14 total kills, followed by LeBlanc and Lindstrom who had 11 and 9, respectively. Lindstrom added to the fight with 29 assists.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set One
The Ravens kept pace with the Warriors, with Hiatt and LeBlanc taking turns tallying kills. Lindstrom kept steady with her setting, and Garnhart held down the defense, keeping rallies alive. East Stroudsburg found their rhythm midway through the set and pulled away to win 25-19.Â
Set TwoÂ
Franklin Pierce showed their best performance of the match in the second set, starting out with a 7-1 lead behind Avery LeBlanc's 7 point service run and Hiatt's key swings. The Warriors were able to regroup, going on a 9-1 run to take the lead. Despite strong blocking from Martina Spackova and Lindstrom, FPU couldn't slow down ESU's momentum, dropping the set 25-19.
Set Three
The Warriors set the tone early in the third, opening with a 9-2 run and didn't slow down. Hiatt added two more kills, and Spackova remained a threat at the net, but the Ravens struggled to generate consistent offense. East Stroudsburg closed out the match 25-13.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set One
The Ravens opened the final game of the tournament strong, with LeBlanc and Koukia leading the attack as Pierce built a steady lead. Spavkova put up heavy defensive pressure at the net helping to slow Saint Michael's offense, while Lindstrom kept the offense flowing, closing out the set 25-21.Â
Set Two
The Purple Knights kept the second match closer, but Franklin Pierce continued to apply pressure with aggressive serving by Hiatt and a strong team effort on offense. Koukia tallied several key points and Julia Felgenhauer added digs to maintain control of the set, finishing 25-23, to go up 2-0 in the match.
Set ThreeÂ
Saint Michael's came out with energy in the third match, dominating behind a strong blocking performance. The Ravens struggled to find rhythm, despite efforts from Adrianna Reay and Hiatt, and the Purple Knights took the set 25-15.
Set Four
In the fourth set, Franklin Pierce regained their composure, going back and forth with Saint Michael's throughout the set. Lindstrom kept the offense balanced, while Reay and Spackova put up key kills. Errors late in the set, and Saint Michael's net defense helped them claim a 25-22 victory, forcing the fifth set.Â
Set Five
The fifth set saw back and forth action between the two teams. Koukia and LeBlanc delivered clutch points for the Ravens, but ultimately fell to the Purple Knights late in the set. Despite a final effort and multiple defensive saves, Franklin Pierce fell just short, 15-13.
