HOW IT HAPPENED
- In a closely contested matchup, both teams showed offensive promise early in the game. Pierce recorded five shots while Post tallied four in the first half, making for a balanced opening period.
- However, it was Post forward Tiago Feler who broke the deadlock in the 34th minute, coming off the bench to score the game's only goal. A well-placed cross from Markus Tunge found Feler in front of the net, where he managed to sneak the ball past Pierce goalkeeper David Skorodumov (Ashland, Mass.) to give the Eagles a 1–0 lead.
- Following halftime, the Ravens significantly ramped up their offensive efforts, firing off 16 shots in the second period. Joao Araujo (Madeira, Portugal) and Miguel D'Amico (São Paulo, Brazil) led the charge with four shots apiece, putting consistent pressure on the Post defense.
- The second half also saw a physical battle between both sides, with the Ravens called for nine fouls and the Eagles for eight. Despite the offensive surge from Pierce, Post goalkeeper Leopold Dufaut delivered a standout performance, making 13 saves and preserving the shutout victory for the Eagles.
- With the loss, the Ravens dropped a close contest, making it their second loss of the season, while the Eagles held strong on their home turf.
