Rindge, N.H. (9/26/2025) - Franklin Pierce women's soccer takes the win over Pace University on Pediatric Cancer Awareness Night. Under the lights, the Ravens were able to capitalize on their opportunities in the tightly contested match with the Setters, winning 2-1. Both goals were netted by Makenzie Shean.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Shean found the back of the net for the first time in the 14th minute of the game. A Pierce throw-in crossed the net to Olivia Crespo, who sent the ball back to Shean in the middle of the box. She sent the ball high into the back of the net, giving the Ravens the 1-0 lead.
- After a tightly remainder of the contested first half, the Setters came out in strong in the second half. In the 55th minute, the Setters had a throw-in opportunity in their attacking zone. The ball crossed to Pierce goalie, Jess LaCroix, who fumbled the ball. Allison Carr took advantage of the rebound opportunity, finding the low right corner of the net to even the game at one goal a piece.
- The go-ahead-goal came from Mackenzie Shean in the 74th minute. Mikayla Horton sent the ball into a cluster in front of the net, when Shean was able to come up with the ball and send it in.
- The final fifteen minutes of the game were again tightly contested between the Ravens and Setters.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
- Shean led the Ravens with 4 shots, 3 of which being on goal.
- The Ravens out shot the Setters 9-7.
- The Ravens tallied 11 fouls to the Setters' 9.
