CONCORD, N.H. (9/16/2025) - The Franklin Pierce Men's Golf team finished in ninth place of ten teams in Southern New Hampshire University's Granite State Opener at Beaver Meadows Golf Course on Tuesday. The team shot a combined +30 over three rounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The team started at +12 after round one. Then they proceeded to have their best round as a group in round two, shooting +5. The momentum did not stick around, however, as the team shot +13 in the final round, which dropped them one position in the final standings to ninth place.
- Once again, Seth Saffell (Castro Valley, CA) led the Ravens team. He shot a 221 (+5) through three rounds, starting off the tournament with a -1 performance in round one. Despite rounds two and three ending at +3, he still proved to be the leader among the Ravens team.
- Another Raven with a solid performance was freshman Connor Griffin (Hopedale, MA). Griffin shot a 223 (+7) through three rounds, entering the final round at even after a +1 round one and a –1 round two.
- Junior Matt Weed (Marblehead, MA) finished with a 225 (+9) through three rounds. His best round was an E after round two.
- Unfortunately, the team faced tough competition, especially from Adelphi, who shot –19, and Assumption, who shot –11 under. Both teams led the leaderboard, with the Panthers winning the tournament.
UP NEXT: The Ravens' next tournament will be at The Ranch Golf Club in Southwick, MA, as they participate in American International College's Invitational. The tournament will start next Wednesday, September 24, and conclude next Thursday, September 25.
