HOW IT HAPPENED

With the addition of the 7-0 shutout, the Ravens improved their season goal-scoring tally to 17 goals in three matches, averaging nearly six goals per game.

From the first few minutes of the game, the Ravens dictated the pace of play. Their suffocating offensive pressure held the Eagles in their own half of the field for the majority of the match.

The Ravens started with quality chances early, and senior midfielder Olivia Crespo (Ludlow, MA) became the first Raven on the scoresheet after collecting a rebound shot off Eagles goalkeeper Aryn Nisbet to put the Ravens in front 1-0. The goal was Crespo's second of the season, and it got things moving for the Ravens' offense.

The Ravens would continue to hound the Eagles, but a stout defense in the box kept the score at 1-0 entering halftime. During the first half, the Ravens recorded 22 shots to the Eagles' 1, with Post's only shot coming from a breakaway chance that was stopped by Freshman goalkeeper Jess LaCroix (Nashua, NH).

The floodgates opened in the second half as Junior midfielder Jenni Huttunen (Tuusula, Finland) gave the Ravens their second goal after numerous attempts to extend their lead. Huttunen, the Ravens' leading scorer this season, recorded her fourth goal of 2025.

Shortly after that, in the 61st minute, Huttunen recorded an assist as senior defender Jenna Delgado (Gilroy, CA) extended the Ravens' lead to 3-0. Delgado was all smiles after the goal, as it was her first goal of the season and her first since her freshman season back in 2022.

There were more firsts for the Ravens after that. Senior midfielder Claudia Peirce (Carver, MA) recorded her first goal of the season after many close chances earlier in the match. The 2024 All-American greatly impacted the Ravens during their final four-run last season.

Graduate midfielder Makenzie Shean (Agawam, MA) made it 5-0 with her first goal of the season in the 62nd minute. Shean returned to the Ravens for the first time after transferring to Barry University during her undergraduate years.

In the 67th minute, senior forward Mollie Cahalane (Merrimack, MA) scored her first goal of the season to make it 6-0. She received a beautiful crossing pass from sophomore midfielder Mikayla Horton (East Islip, NY) to score from the box.

Freshman midfielder Mari Heiskanen (Krikkonummi, Finland) capped off the 7-0 win with her second goal of the season. She scored from the middle of the offensive half of the field by receiving a pass from freshman forward McKenna Maguire (Brookline, NH).

In the end, the Ravens dominated in every category. They outshot the Eagles 41-1, with 16 of them being on goal; they had 14 corners and only had four fouls compared to Post's 16.

The Ravens continued their dominance and look even more formidable than the team that made it to the final four just a season prior. They hope to keep their momentum going as they hit the road to face Molloy on Wednesday afternoon. That match will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Molly University.
