HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ravens wasted no time setting the tone, forcing Queens goalkeeper Samantha Hines-Hirsch into action just three minutes into the match.
- Franklin Pierce struck first in the 12th minute. Olivia Crespo (Ludlow, Mass.) received a pass from Jenni Huttunen (Tuusula, Finland) near the corner and delivered a perfectly placed cross to Grace Martin (Millbury, Mass.), who was stationed right in front of goal and finished to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead.
- Despite several more chances, the score held through halftime. Kaitlyn S. Bautista (Scurry, Texas) kept the pressure on with multiple shots that forced the Knights' keeper to stay alert.
- Just five minutes into the second half, Huttunen netted her third goal of the 2025 campaign. After a service from Samantha Breton (Chicopee, Mass.) found Makenzie Shean (Agawam, Mass.) in the box, Shean flicked the ball to Huttunen, who buried her shot into the top corner to double the Ravens' advantage.
- Queens attempted to answer with 18 minutes remaining, as Jenna Rosenberger sent a dangerous ball into the box, but freshman goalkeeper Jess LaCroix (Nashua, N.H.) was quick off her line to collect it and preserve the shutout.
- Franklin Pierce kept pressing and was rewarded in the 79th minute when Kate McArdle (Holyoke, Mass.) and Mari Heiskanen (Kirkkonummi, Finland) combined on a give-and-go just outside the 18-yard box. Heiskanen capped the play with a well-placed outside-foot finish for her first career goal.
- The scoring continued as Maddie Fitzgerald (Whitman, Mass.) tallied her first career goal in the closing minutes. After a strong run from McKenna Maguire (Brookline, N.H.), her shot deflected toward goal, where Fitzgerald redirected it with a header into the far corner to seal the 4-0 victory.
