How It Happened

  • After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the first, the Ravens answered in emphatic fashion. Nolan DeAndrade ignited the scoring with a solo homer in the second, followed by a three-run inside-the-park home run from Shane Hewlette to give Franklin Pierce a 4-1 lead. The momentum continued in the third when Anthony Marcano launched a two-run shot to extend the lead to 6-1.
  • Felician closed the gap to 6-4 in the fourth, but the Ravens responded with a massive six-run bottom half of the inning. Julian Monks connected for a two-run homer, and Marcano struck again—this time with a grand slam—to blow the game open at 12-4.
  • Franklin Pierce continued to pile it on, scoring two more in the fifth and one in the sixth. DeAndrade belted his second solo homer of the game in the sixth, and the Ravens tacked on three more runs in the eighth on a pair of errors and a clutch RBI single from Joey Acker.

Breaking Down the Numbers

  • Marcano led the offensive surge with two home runs and a game-high 6 RBIs, finishing 2-for-5.
  • Hewlette had a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs and an inside-the-park homer.
  • Monks added 2 hits, including a homer and 2 RBIs, while also scoring 3 runs.
  • DeAndrade clubbed 2 solo homers and drove in a pair.
  • The Ravens totaled 14 hits and 18 runs, capitalizing on 3 Felician errors and 6 walks.
  • On the mound, Kyle Salvati earned the win (8-3), pitching 3.1 innings before handing the ball to Esteban Rivera III, who closed it out with 5.2 innings of work, striking out 3.

Up Next for the Ravens: With the series now tied 1-1, Franklin Pierce and Felician will square off in a decisive Game 3 on Sunday at Pappas Field. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m., with a trip to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship on the line.
