SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (5/10/25) – The Franklin Pierce baseball team saw its 2025 NE10 postseason run come to an end on Saturday, falling to Pace University in the opening round of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship at Springfield College.
Location: Springfield College, Springfield, Mass.
Date: May 10, 2025
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Pace struck quickly, plating three runs in the top of the first inning and seizing early momentum. The Ravens were unable to contain the Setters' bats, as they tacked on five more runs in the third to break the game open and grab an 8-0 lead.
- Franklin Pierce pushed back in the sixth, finally getting on the board with two runs to cut into the deficit. But despite their efforts, the Ravens couldn't mount a comeback, as Pace's pitching duo of Justin Dressler and McCann limited the damage and closed out the game.
- On the mound, the Ravens' pitching staff struggled to hold back an aggressive Pace lineup, led by Luke Rivara's five-hit performance and two RBI. Franklin Pierce registered eight hits in the contest, but left several runners stranded and couldn't deliver timely offense when it was needed most.
UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: With the loss, the Ravens now turn their attention to Selection Sunday, as they await the NCAA's decision on a possible at-large bid to the NCAA East Regional at 10:30 p.m., Sunday.
