DeLucia Dominates as Ravens Advance in NCAA East Regional with 4–1 Win Over Goldey-Beacom

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (5/15/25) - Timely hitting, solid defense, and a dominant start from Drew DeLucia powered the Franklin Pierce baseball team past Goldey-Beacom, 4–1, on Thursday afternoon. With the win, the Ravens will advance to Game 3 of the 2025 NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament #1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Franklin Pierce struck first in the opening inning when Kiobel Lugo doubled and came around to score on an RBI double to left center by Anthony Marcano.
  • Nolan DeAndrade extended the lead in the fourth with a solo home run to left field, making it 2–0.
  • Goldey-Beacom cut into the lead in the fifth. Dante Disabatino drew a walk and eventually scored on a two-out RBI single by Christian Petrillo.
  • The Ravens added a run in the seventh. Julien Monks reached and later came home on a sacrifice fly by Michael Quiros to right field.
  • Lugo came through again in the ninth, doubling home Joey Acker to make it 4–1 and cap the scoring.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS

  • Drew DeLucia picked up the win, improving to 7–4. He went 8.2 innings, giving up one earned run on eight hits while striking out seven.
  • Niklas Pavia came in to record the final out and earned his first save of the season.
  • Lugo finished 2-for-5 with two doubles, a stolen base, an RBI, and a run scored.
  • Quiros also went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a double, while DeAndrade's homer was his 14th of the season.
  • Franklin Pierce totaled 11 hits on the day and turned a key double play on defense.
