HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Purple Knights got off to quick start, drawing first blood scoring in the first twelve seconds of the day through Sophia Lynch. The Ravens would respond three minutes later through freshman Morgan Groppi (Stoughton, MA) as she nestled one in the back of the net to level the score. The Ravens would double down in the seventh minute as Emily Ulmer (Bedford, N.H.) put the Ravens ahead for the first time in this game. Just as the quarter seemed to end in favor of the Ravens Sophia Lynch equalized in the dying seconds of the quarter to end off 2-2.
- Despite the late goal in the first the Ravens were determined to put themselves ahead once more and they did through another Ulmer goal in the first minute of play. Saint Micheals would respond a minute and half later when Addy Fenton found herself in a golden position and evened the score 3-3. The Purple Knights would take control of the game from then on score 2 quick back-to-back goals off the sticks off Ginnie Hamilton and Sophia Lynch, who completed her hattrick. Not willing to let the Purple Knights have their way, Riley Beem (Windham, ME) launched a shot into the net to bring the Ravens behind by only one. The Purple Knights responded by scoring 3 unanswered goals through an Audrey Conover brace and Lila Peddie to end off the half 8-4.
- The Purple Knights marched into the third quarter, scoring within the first minute of play as Conover completed her hattrick. The rest of the quarter was relatively quiet before the Ravens found their feet scoring in the last four minutes of play off a man-up position which saw Hayley Hermsdorf (Center Moriches, N.Y.) notch not just one but two goals to head into the fourth 9-5.
- The fourth quarter saw the Purple Knights reestablish themselves in the game yet again, scoring three unanswered goals through Lynch, Conover and Grace Driscoll. Raven senior Ulmer would bring the game closer as she completed her hattrick and before Olivia Robb (East Longmeadow, MA) and Hermsdorf would combine to bring life into the Ravens. Unfortunately for them Sophia Lynch would put one last goal in the back of the net for the Purple Knights to kill off any hopes of a comeback. However, it would be Beem who would have the last say of the game netting for the Ravens to end the game 13-9.
