It was in the second period that the Ravens opened the scoring. The Ravens forced a turnover in the neutral zone that lead to a three-on-one rush. Sophomore defender Courtney Swenson (Bolingbrook, IL) shot the puck at Carly Greene who initially made the save, but Swenson gathered the rebound and poked it home to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead. The Ravens then scored again off a turnover last in the period. Junior defender Maggie Korneta (Naperville, IL) lifted the puck over Greene's left pad after getting the rebound from first year forward Caleigh Murphy (Belle Harbor, NY) to put the Ravens up 2-0.
