Ravens Shine in Shootout After Third-Period Battle at Saint Anselm

MANCHESTER, N.H. (12/4/25) - The Ravens continued the NEWHA series with Saint Anselm after a key 2-1 win over the Hawks in game one. Despite a two-goal lead in the beginning of the third, the Hawks came back, forcing overtime. Abigail Broz (White Bear Lake, Minn.) was able to win the game for the Ravens in the shootout, making a strong statement against the top NEWHA team.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Hawks would first strike in the first period after Jill Hertl (Highland Park, Ill.) misread the deflection off the board, leaving the goal unattended for Nicola Forth to take an early lead.
  • The Ravens would not respond until the beginning of the second period on a power play that carried over from the end of the first. Melanie Targosz (Livonia, Mich.) would end up with the puck after a scrum in front of the net, taking the shot through traffic for the equalizer.
  • The Raven's momentum would continue after Caleigh Murphy (Belle Harbor, N.Y.) would bury a shot into the top left corner of the net in the third, making the score 2-1.
  • Ashley Wright (Milford, Conn.) would extend the lead for the Ravens off a pass from Murphy, finding the back of the net for the first time this season.
  • The Hawks would level the score shortly after, with Brooklyn Schneiderhan and Justyce Ohlgren sending the puck past Hertl.
  • With seconds left in the third, Addison Andre (South St. Paul, Minn.) was able to draw a hooking penalty, entering overtime with a power play opportunity. Despite 3 shots from the Ravens, they were unable to capitalize, sending the game into shootouts.
  • Abigail Broz (White Bear Lake, Minn.) was able to put the puck away for the shootout win, still making a dominant statement in the NEWHA conference.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS

  • Bo Dean (Toronto, Ontario) led the team with 7 shots.
  • Jenna Sharland (San Jose, Calif.) recorded the most blocks with 4.
  • The Ravens outshot the Hawks 38-31.
  • Hertl made 28 saves.

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens will resume their season in 2026, where they will face off against Sacred Heart University for another NEWHA series, starting on January 9th at 7 PM.
