HOW IT HAPPENED
- Franklin Pierce battled through a tightly contested opening half, trading early buckets with Southern Connecticut and taking a brief lead midway through the period. The Ravens generated consistent second-chance chances—outrebounding SCSU 19–7 on the offensive glass for the night—and used strong bench production to stay within reach. Aaron Anene's tip-in and Raymond Baka's interior scoring helped FPU close the first half, but SCSU scored in the final seconds to take a 30–28 lead into the break.
- The Owls found their rhythm from beyond the arc in the second half, knocking down 6-of-11 attempts and stretching their advantage to double digits. Malik Banks caught fire, scoring 18 second-half points (21 total), and the Owls used a 10–2 run to create separation. Dylan Goodman's late three and Enmanuel Ferreras's layup brought the Ravens back within six inside two minutes, but SCSU responded at the line and held on down the stretch.
