HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Eagles were able to capitalize early on an even strength opportunity. After back-to-back shots, the Eagles sent the pucks around their offensive zones, finding an open shot to take the 1-0 lead.
  • Post deepened the deficit to 2 goals just ten seconds into a power-play, when Austin Pick was in the penalty box for tripping. Just six seconds into the power-play, an Eagle found the corner of the net from the goal line, putting the Ravens behind 2-0.
  • With just under five minutes to play in the first period, Pick found the back of the net with assists from Josh Tisdell and Mario Paganini. Pick found the puck behind the net from Tisdell and sent it to Paganini in front of the net. From the initial shot, Pick collected the rebound on his backhand, scoring for the Ravens.
  • The second period saw back and forth play, with Post finding 16 shot opportunities to the Ravens' 7. With equal power-play opportunities, neither team was able to find the back of the net, leading to the Ravens entering the final period down 2-1.
  • In the 8th minute of the third period, Franklin Pierce found themselves on the power-play off an Eagles penalty for interference. Douglas McGuire took the puck up the left side of the ice, and slipped it to Paganini in front of the net who tipped it in for the equalizer.
  • In the last 12 minutes of the game, both teams were looking to take the lead for the win. After multiple shots under Franklin Pierce control, in the 17th minute, Liam Crowley sent the puck towards the net, finding a tip from Pick, giving the Ravens the 3-2 lead.
  • With two minutes to play, the Eagles pulled their goalie in an effort to send the game to over time. After Post kept consistent possession, Max Christiansen picked up the puck and sent it up the ice to Paganini who found the empty net, solidifying the Ravens 4-2 win.
