Leal Deals Five Touchdowns in Ravens’ Dominant Win on Senior Day

RINDGE, N.H. (11/8/25) - The Franklin Pierce football team honored their senior players with a 38-7 rout of the Southern Connecticut State Owls in their final home game of the season.

Score: Franklin Pierce 38, SCSU 7
Records: Franklin Pierce 5-4 (4-2 NE10), SCSU 3-6 (3-3 NE10)
Location: Sodexo Field, Franklin Pierce University, Rindge, N.H.
Date: November 8, 2025

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The first quarter was dominated by both defenses, resulting in both offenses struggling out of the gate. The Ravens broke the ice, however, with a 25-yard field goal from redshirt freshman kicker Andoni Santos (Everett, Mass.) to make it 3-0. That score remained for the rest of the quarter as the Owls showcased a stout redzone defense that forced two missed field goal opportunities from Santos, one off the left upright.
  • The Ravens' defense set the tone in the second quarter. Senior linebacker Geno Facchetti (Wilbraham, Mass.) got a crucial sack on second down that would force the Owls to punt a couple of plays later. On the ensuing drive, sophomore punter Ethan Brown (Swanzey, N.H.) punted the football to pin the Owls inside their own five-yard line. The Owls could not do much and had to punt to the Ravens, who were in good field position, which was improved by senior wide receiver Alex Benitez (Belle Meade, NJ) and his return to the 15-yard line. The Ravens then scored on a touchdown pass from junior quarterback Kevin Leal (Cambridge, Mass.) to junior running back Reimello Hyde (Nashua, NH) to make it 10-0.
  • Then, the Ravens' defense showed up again in the final minutes of the first half with junior defensive back Jamel Lee (New Haven, Conn.) securing his second interception of the season. The turnover resulted in Leal's second touchdown pass of the day. This time, senior wide receiver Kameron Massey (East Hartford, Conn.) secured a 17-yard pass and made it 17-0.
  • The Ravens added even more in the third quarter. Leal connected with Massey again, this time for a 10-yard touchdown pass and catch. Then, senior running back Andrew Meleski (Ashland, Mass.) caught a three-yard touchdown pass from Leal to put the Ravens comfortably in the driver's seat of a 31-0 lead. The Owls did get on the scoresheet with a seven-yard rushing touchdown by quarterback Brandon Jorgensen, but it was quickly answered on the ensuing drive by freshman wide receiver Andrew Mugovero who caught a 57-yard touchdown pass from Leal to make it 38-7. The score remained that way for the rest of the game as the Ravens tied their program record for most wins in a season, meeting last year's total of five.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS

  • Kevin Leal had his best performance in his college career, completing 23 passes on 34 attempts for 234 yards and five touchdowns, equating to a 126.7 passer rating.
  • The Ravens' defense pressured Jorgensen all afternoon, getting six sacks for 21 yards lost. Facchetti and senior defensive end John Furno (Douglas, MA) both had two sacks each.
  • The Owls committed eight penalties, resulting in 68 yards lost, while the Ravens only committed two for 20 yards.

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens will head to Pleasantville, NY, to face the Pace Setters for their final game of the season. There, they aim to record their sixth win of the season, which would be their most in program history, and it would be their first winning season in program history. Kickoff will be at Noon on Saturday, November 15th.
