HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ravens were the first team on the scoresheet in the first quarter. Redshirt freshman kicker Andoni Santos (Everett, MA) kicked a chip-shot 15-yard field goal halfway through the quarter. Then, freshman running back Anthony Johnson (Syracuse, NY) scored his second touchdown of his career to give the Ravens a 10-0 lead.
- The Setters responded late in the second quarter when Ravens quarterback Kevin Leal (Cambridge, MA) fumbled the football, which was recovered by the Setters. That prompted a 26-yard touchdown pass from Ah-Shaun Davis to Elizjah Lewis to cut the Ravens lead to 10-7 entering halftime.
- In the third quarter, the game remained close as both teams struggled to generate productive drives. It was not either offense that would strike next, however, as the Ravens' special teams would make the biggest play of the game. As the Setters attempted a 41-yard field goal, sophomore defensive back Damir Stone (East Orange, NJ) blocked the kick and returned it 69 yards for a touchdown, lifting the Ravens ahead of the Setters, 17-7.
- From there, the Ravens were in complete control going into the fourth quarter. They added another score as Leal found senior running back Alex Benitez (Belle Meade, NJ) for a four-yard passing touchdown. Despite a late field goal from Marc Malandruccolo, the Ravens grasped onto their sixth win of the season and cemented their 2025 campaign as their best in program history.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
- The Ravens got the job done with their running game and run defense, collecting 143 yards of offense on the ground while holding the Setters to just 28 rushing yards.
- Pace had more passing yards than Franklin Pierce, airing it out for 277 yards compared to Franklin Pierce's 153.
- The Ravens won despite holding the ball for less time than the Setters, as Pace had over 34 minutes of possession while Franklin Pierce had only 25.
UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens' season concludes on a high note with this 24-10 win. They finished the season 6-4, their best record in program history, eclipsing last season's 5-5 record. They also had a strong year in the NE10 conference, going 5-2 in conference play. The Ravens football team has a bright future ahead of them with talent up and down the roster. They will pick up games again next fall for the 2026 season.
