East Meadow, N.Y. (9/27/2025) - The Franklin Pierce women's ice hockey fell to the hands of the Long Island University in their first of two games vs Sharks this weekend. Despite a strong first period it wasn't enough to get them over the line.

Records: Franklin Pierce 4-7-0 (3-4-0 NEWHA), LIU 4-4-1 (2-4-1 NEC)
Location: Northwell Health Ice Center, East Meadow, N.Y.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ravens put up a strong defensive performance holding the sharks to no goals in the first period. Great saves from Jill Hertl (Highland Park, Ill.) kept the period scoreless.
- It took until the second period for the Sharks to break down the Ravens when Ella Knewston sent the puck over to Marin Jugnauth who set up Paige Vreeman who beat Hertl to put the Shark up on the scoreboard.
- The third period was more of the same for the Sharks as they got their second and final goal from Drew Dyczkowski who's shot was too well placed for Hertl to keep out.
INSIDE THE CREASE:
- Hertl racked up a total of 25 saves for the Ravens.
- The Sharks would outshoot the Ravens 27-21.
- Both the Sharks and the Ravens went 0-3 on powerplays
UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: Women's ice hockey is back in action tomorrow as they stay in NY to face off against the Sharks again. Puck drop is set for 2:00 p.m. on November 7th at Northwell Health Ice Center.
