HOW IT HAPPENED
- Just like Friday, the Ravens struck first in the first period. With under five minutes to go in the opening frame, freshman left winger Drew White (East Hartford, CT) finished a play created by sophomore winger Thomas Perivolotis (Littleton, MA) and sophomore forward Matthew Frett (Cherry Hill, NJ) to give the Ravens a 1-0 lead.
- The Hawks evened the score in the second period after Alec O'Connor scored a goal 12 minutes into the period. Four minutes later, Sebastian Rogles gave Saint Anselm the 2-1 lead over Franklin Pierce going into the third period.
- The Hawks expanded their lead and did not look back in the third period. Saint Anselm scored three goals in the frame, two in the first three minutes. Luke Linart scored on the power play, then Nolan King followed up 21 seconds later to make it 4-1 Saint Anselm. The Ravens were able to get one back as sophomore forward Mario Paganini (Harrison, NY) scored off a pass from senior forward Austin Pick (Troutdale, OR) to cut the deficit to two goals. However, the Hawks finished the game with a goal from Dylan Reynolds that secured a 5-2 victory for Saint Anselm.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
- The Hawks outshot the Ravens 43-40 in the game.
- Both teams had eight penalties on the night, but it was the Hawks who scored the only power play goal.
- The Hawks also won more faceoffs, winning 36 draws compared to the Ravens' 29.
