Pick’s Power Play Goal Keeps Ravens Perfect in NE10

WINCHENDON, Mass. (11/21/25) - The Franklin Pierce Men's Hockey team came in clutch, scoring a late power play goal in the third period during their first season matchup with the Saint Anselm Hawks on Friday.

Score: Franklin Pierce 4, Saint Anselm 2.
Records: Franklin Pierce 5-2-0 (4-0-0 NE10), Saint Anselm 1-5-1 (1-3-1 NE10)
Location: Jason Ritchie Ice Arena, Winchendon, Mass.
Date: November 21, 2025

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Ravens were quick to light the lamp in the first period. Just four minutes into the opening frame, senior captain Doug McGuire (Elk Grove Village, IL) received a pass from junior defenseman Todd Branish (Castle Pines, CO) to give Franklin Pierce an early 1-0 lead. Just two minutes later, sophomore forward Mario Paganini (Harrison, NY) scored on the power play to extend the Ravens' lead to 2-0.
  • The Hawks responded quickly in the second period to cut the lead in half. Saint Anselm's Garrett Alberti snuck the puck into the net on the power play to make it 2-1. Then, in the third period, Cam Collins tied the game by poking one past senior goaltender Jeremy Connor (Hazlet, NJ) inside the crease.
  • That was all the Hawks could muster; however, the Ravens closed out the game. After Alberti committed a slashing penalty, senior forward Austin Pick (Troutdale, OR) sniped the top shelf on the power play with less than five minutes remaining. He then finished the game with an empty netter to seal a 4-2 win.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS

  • The Hawks outshot the Ravens 32-28
  • The Ravens committed five penalties to the Hawks' two.
  • The Hawks won 39 faceoffs for the Ravens' 32.

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens face the Hawks again Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Jason Ritchie Ice Arena for the second game of their two-game series.
