HOW IT HAPPENED
- Franklin Pierce overcame an early 3–0 deficit and quickly took control behind strong inside play from Raymond Baka (Atlanta, Ga.) and Beni Lavodrama (Washington, D.C), turning Post turnovers into easy baskets.
- A corner three from Erick Perez (Loiza, Puerto Rico) and steady finishing at the rim stretched the Ravens' lead to double digits, and despite several threes from Post's Cape Holden, FPU carried a 35–24 lead into halftime.
- Post came out firing in the second half, using transition baskets from Zion Lott, Ta'Quan Williams, and Deng Akok to erase the deficit and tie the game 39–39. But Franklin Pierce responded immediately.
- Baka, Lavodrama, and Dylan Goodman (Long Island, N.Y.) rebuilt the lead with a series of layups and free throws, though Post again rallied late to close within two at 56–54.
- From there, the Ravens took over. Lavodrama scored repeatedly inside, and Anthony Parker (Middletown, Conn.) delivered the turning point with a fastbreak three that pushed the lead to seven.
- FPU locked down defensively in the final minutes and closed out the game with free throws and timely scoring to secure a 76–66 win.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
- Lavodrama led the team with 19 points, going 7 for 15 on field goals and 5 for 6 on free throws.
- Parker played a high of 31 minutes, totaling 16 points and recording 6 defensive rebounds and 5 steals
- The Ravens shot 42.1% in field goals, 37.5% in threes, and 84.6% in free throws.
