HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Franklin Pierce set the tone early with strong interior play and efficient shooting, jumping out to an 11-point lead midway through the first half. Anthony Parker (Anthony, Parker) and Kayvontay Williams (Queensvillage, N.Y.) powered the early offense, combining for 23 first-half points, while Raymond Baka (Atlanta, Ga.) controlled the boards and generated multiple second-chance opportunities.
  • Bridgeport responded with a 12-0 run to erase the deficit and briefly take a six-point lead, capitalizing on transition opportunities and foul trouble on the Raven side. Despite the push, FPU regained momentum before the break. Timely threes from Parker and Dylan Goodman (Long Island, N.Y.), paired with back-to-back baskets from Williams, sent the Ravens into halftime with a 48–46 lead.
  • The second half opened with both teams trading baskets and the score tied on three separate occasions. Erick Perez (Loiza, Puerto Rico) delivered a spark off the bench highlighted by a corner three and an athletic finish inside to help the Ravens keep pace. With under 10 minutes to play, Bridgeport surged again, hitting consecutive triples to pull within two.
  • From there, Franklin Pierce tightened defensively and executed in crunch time. A layup by Williams gave FPU the lead back at 67–65, and the Ravens never trailed again in the final eight minutes. Baka's persistence on the glass created multiple key second-chance buckets, while Perez, Duff, and Parker all contributed timely scoring.
  • The turning point came with under two minutes remaining when Parker buried a deep three in transition to extend the lead to 87–84. On the next possession, the Ravens forced a turnover, and Baka cleaned up a missed shot for a put-back to seal the win. FPU outscored Bridgeport 21–16 in the final eight minutes and closed the night on a 6–0 run to secure the 90–84 victory.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
