HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Ravens battled back and forth with the Purple Knights through the entire first set, with their final run of points starting with a kill from Annaka Lindstrom. Two attack errors from the Purple Knights set the Ravens ahead 19-24, and Adrianna Reay capped off the set, taking the final point with a kill.
  • Franklin Pierce took an early give point lead in the second set with back-to-back service aces from Avery LeBlanc. After letting up only one point, they widened the gap 10-1. The remainder of the set went back and forth between the teams, but the Ravens were able to keep their lead, never letting the gap close to less than 9 points. On the match point, the Purple Knights fought hard, taking four points in a row, but the Ravens ultimately took the set on an attack error by the Purple Knights.
  • Franklin Pierce struggled to keep momentum in the third set, against multiple several-point runs from Saint Michael's. The Ravens dropped the third set 25-8.
  • On a Purple Knight's service error, the Ravens took the first point of set four. Multiple service aces from Jayne Hiatt and Julia Felgenhauer led the Ravens' attack momentum. The Ravens were able to find a three point run to end the match, with the final kill coming from Hiatt off an assist from Lindstrom.
