HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ravens started off strong, on a man-even goal four minutes into play. From assists by Isaiah Frankel and Douglas McGuire, Chris Foster was able to find his way past the Keene State goal tender.Â
- Franklin Pierce struck again in the 15th minute, on the power play. With 20 seconds to go in the man-up opportunity, McGuire found Austin Pick on the right side of the Owls' net, who crossed the puck to Nick Fish. Fish was able to finish, putting the Ravens up 2-0 going into the second period.Â
- Keene State came out strong after the break, scoring on even strength just 43 seconds into the second period.Â
- Not long after, in the third minute of the period, the Owls evened the score at 2. On the power play, Chase Carney took the puck up the ice, and crossed to Joe Fontaine just in front of the net, who tipped it in for the second goal.Â
- Not even 30 second later, Franklin Pierce began what would become back and forth play between the teams for the remainder of the game. At even strength, the puck was turned over at the center of the ice, where Giovanni Ursillo found John Sterling for the third Ravens goal, putting them ahead 3-2.Â
- Keene State battled back to even the score at 3 gaining possession, and battling behind the net. The Owls kept possession, crossing the puck in front of the net, which the Ravens defense got a touch on, but wasn't enough as Marcus Chrisafideis was able to score.Â
- After back and forth play for nearly ten minutes, Keene State was able to capitalize again int he 12th minute of the second. On the power play, the Owls held possession in their attacking zone, and just after the Ravens returned to full strength, Thor Hansen found his way past Pierce goaltender Jeremy Connor, putting them up 4-3.
- While man-even at 4 on 4, Josh Tisdell took the puck up the ice himself, beating the goalie which evened the score at 4 a piece.
- While still 4 on 4, the Owls found themselves behind the net, and were able to slip the puck up, across the net to Sean Hoffman who regained Keene State's lead, 5-4.
- Back on the Ravens power play with just under 2 minutes left in the second period, a long shot from McGuire would find Mario Paganini's stick just in front of the net for a deflection, evening the score at 5.Â
- While man-down, Keene found the lead again when Zackary Chouinard took on two Ravens defenders and tipped the puck off to Michael Boschetto who found the back of the net.Â
- Less than two minutes into the final period, still on the power play, Austin Pick took a shot, which deflected off of John Sterling's stick to find its way past the Keene State goaltender. This would even the score at 6, but be the last time the Ravens were able to capitalize.Â
- After some time of back and forth play, in the 14th minute, Keene State found the final lead of the game at even strength. Sean Hoffman found himself wide open at the top of their attacking zone, shot the puck, and netted the Owls' seventh goal.Â
- The final goal came in the final minute of play in a 2v1 empty net scenario. Sean Gray and Peter Unger took the last Ravens defender on, and Unger slipped the puck into the empty net, making the final score of the game 6-8.
