HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Ravens came out strong, trading early chances with the Penmen. Southern New Hampshire struck first when Abby Forbes fired a sweeping shot into the circle, where Jade Hendricks tipped it in over Zoe Noorlag (Amersfoort, Netherlands).
  • In the second quarter, the Ravens' defense was under pressure as the Penmen fired multiple shots on goal. Hendricks again drove into the circle and found Amelia Crocombe, who slotted it home to double the lead. Despite earning five penalty corners, the Ravens were unable to capitalize before halftime.
  • Looking to mount a comeback in the third quarter, both sides had limited chances until Hendricks struck again, converting off a penalty corner to make it 3–0.
  • Early in the fourth, Kim Dull extended the lead with a goal assisted by Crocombe, who later tallied her second goal of the day, pushing the score to 5–0.
  • The Ravens avoided a shutout thanks to Lily Zavras (Worcester, Mass.), who converted a penalty stroke after the Penmen goalie committed a foul in the circle. Zavras' shot to the right beat Miranda Waigand, but the Ravens ultimately fell 5–1.
