HOW IT HAPPENED
- Throughout a scoreless first half, both teams put up a battle showing good defensive play, with occasional sparks of offense.
- In the 20th minute of play, Jess LaCroix slide tackled on a breakaway from Lauryn Wood, though LaCroix mishit and took out Wood leading to a yellow card.
- Not long into the second half, the Ravens found their groove. A lofted through ball over the defense found Claudia Peirce, who beat her defender by cutting inside and she calmly slotted the ball past the keeper into the back of the net putting Pierce up 1-0.
- In the 75th minute, a pass back to Jess LaCroix under pressure forced her to pick up the ball outside of the box, resulting in her second yellow card of the game. This concluded the freshman's night, forcing the Ravens to play man down for the remainder of the game.
- The Panthers took advantage of their man-up opportunity, scoring after just five minutes. In the 80th minute, Mia Otero found Alice Mottershead in the middle of the field, who quickly sent the ball back to Otero. This allowed Otero to open up and rifle the ball into the top right corner, leveling the score 1-1.
- The final 9 minutes of play were hard fought by both teams, but no one would capitalize on a final scoring opportunity.
