HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Southern Connecticut owls broke down the ravens early in the first half netting the first goal of the game in the 18th minute off a shot from Shi Reeves that Jess LaCroix (Nashua, N.H.) was only able to get a hand on as it sailed into the top corner.
  • In the 35th minute the Owls broke through again this time with Elizabeth Bishop who's volley from just outside the right side of the penalty box rifled into the top left corner. Having the Ravens down 2-0 going into the break.
  • Six minutes after the hour mark Claudia Peirce (Carver, MA) laid the ball back to Maddie Fitzgerald (Whitman, MA) who launched a shot from just inside the box into the top right corner halving the deficit for the Ravens.
  • 8 minutes later across from Samantha Breton (Chicopee, MA) found the feet of a running Sheen shipping the ball over the owls keeper equalizing the score for the Ravens 2-2.
  • With 9 minutes remaining, Kaitlyn Bautista lofted a ball into the area that bounced over the Owls keeper chipping into the net and completing the comeback for the Ravens 3-2.
  • With the clock winding down the Ravens secured the win after a strike from Sheen was parried away by Abby Aughe but fell right back to her feet and punished Aughe from 6 yards. Sending the Ravens back to Rindge with a 4-2 victory.
