HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mavericks did well to keep the Ravens silent for the opening minutes, but Franklin Pierce would ultimately breakthrough in the 22 minutes when a ball played through by Claudia Peirce (Carver, MA) would find the feet of a running Crespo who slotted the ball past the Mavrick keeper putting the Ravens up 1-0.
- The Ravens would strike again this time through a corner dished in by Brigid Moore (West Springfield, MA) that deflected to Breton who volleyed the ball into the back of the net lifting the Ravens 2-0.
- The second half was a battle of defenses with neither team allowing the other to break them down and score, meaning the 2 goals in the first half where all the Ravens needed to secure the win.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
- Franklin Pierce outshot Southern Connecticut 16–11, including a 10–6 edge in shots on goal.
- Ryan Rosario (Holbrook, N.Y.) registered 6 saves on the day.
