Ravens Drop Close 3-4 Match to SNHU in Conference Play

HOOKSET, N.H. 10/18/25 - Despite a strong singles showing against Southern New Hampshire University in a NE10 Conference matchup, doubles play would be the deciding factor, ending the match in a 3-4 loss for the Ravens.

Location: Oulette Stadium Tennis Courts, Southern New Hampshire University, Hookset, N.H.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Orlando Guerrero (Pachuco, Mexico) would earn the first win for the Ravens in singles play, with a quick two sets at number two doubles. 
  • At number six singles, Mathias Bonnefond (Chateauroux, France) was able to make a comeback after losing the first set, dominating 6-1, 6-2 in the remaining sets to secure the win.  
  • Daniel Garcia (Almeria, Spain) won his singles match as well after losing the first set and forced two more sets to secure the third singles match of the day. 
  • Ruben Minguez (Barcelona, Spain) and Roman Gonzalez (Luarca, Spain) put up a good fight in their singles matches but unfortunately came up short. Minguez forced a tiebreaker in the first set but was unable to capitalize, losing his match in two sets. Gonzalez pushed a third set after winning the second over his opponent but was unable to earn the point against the Penmen. 
  • In doubles play, Bonnefond and Gonzalez would be the lone winners in doubles play with a 7-5 win over the Penmen. The Ravens were unbale to pull through in their other doubles matches, losing their fourth straight match in conference play. 

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens will compete against Nichols College in a non-conference matchup this upcoming Monday, October 20th at 2 pm.
