HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Setters came out with an early start, with a pass from Kyleigh Kearney finding Sydney Sims for the goal past Zoe Noorlag (Amersfoort, Netherlands).
  • Despite the early goal from the Setters, Noorlag would make 8 saves in the first quarter alone to keep the score at 1-0.
  • In the second quarter, the Setters would come out and make another early goal to extend their lead over the Ravens, when Enya Manzanera fired one into the back of the cage.
  • Moments later, a shot by Romy Manditsera was headed for the cage after Noorlag came out to stop her shot. However, Kendall Gates (Wilbraham, Mass.) would come up with a defensive save, stopping Manditsera with the third goal.
  • After a third goal from Pace in the opening minutes of the third period, Ravens knew they had to pick up their offensive chances.
  • With four back-to-back penalty corners for the Ravens, shots from Aria Caputo (Gloucester, Mass.) and Puck Wanders (Doorn, Netherlands) would be saved by Setters goalkeeper, Morgan Strecker.
  • With another opportunity in the third for the Setters, defensive efforts from Olivia O'Brien (Upton, Mass.) and Nina Depew (Acton, Mass.) were able to keep the Setters to a 3-goal lead.
  • Despite even shots from both sides of the field in the fourth quarter, no one was able to capitalize, ending the game with a 3-0 Loss to Pace.
