Colchester, Vt. (10/15/2025) - Franklin Pierce women's tennis traveled north to Saint Michael's College for a midweek match, where they beat the Purple Knights 6-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ravens found themselves on top of all three doubles spots that they competed in, starting off with Gabriela Yamate and Ainhoa Ordonez, who took their match 6-2. They were followed by a second strong showing with Ines Gabarro and Candela Tortosa, who also won their match 6-2. Rounding out the doubles play was Sara Gonzalez and Ana Munoz - the pair completed the sweep, 6-3.
- In singles play, the Ravens earned their first point through Gabarro. After taking the first set 6-3, Lucy McPherson of SMC battled back, taking the second set into a tie breaker. Gabarro ultimately finished on top, 7-5.
- Gabriela Yamate had a similar showing, taking her first set 6-1. The second set against Emma Gredenhag was forced to extended play, which Yamate took 7-5.
- Ainhoa Ordonez battled back and forth with Jedidah Xu. Ordonez took the first set 6-4, but dropped the second 3-6. Ordonez capitalized on the third set, only letting up one point, ultimately winning 6-1.
- Candela Tortosa showed dominance taking the first two sets of her match 6-0.
- Ana Munoz rounded out the day taking her match in two sets, as well. Munoz took the first set 6-0, followed by another 6-1 win. This would give the Ravens the final point of the day, winning 6-1.
UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens are back in action this Saturday, October 18th. They will travel to Southern New Hampshire University to take on the Penmen at 12:00 p.m.
