HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The men's tennis team put up a strong showing in doubles play against the Greyhounds, claiming the opening point with solid performances across the board.
  • Ruben Minguez (Barcelona, Spain) and Martin Dominguez (Vigo, Spain) secured a hard-fought 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Roman Gonzalez (Luarca, Spain) and Mathias Bonnefond (Chateauroux, France) cruised to a dominant 6-1 win, clinching the doubles point for the team.
  • In singles action, Minguez bounced back after dropping the first set to take his match in three sets. Daniel Garcia (Almeria, Spain) was in control throughout his match, dominating his opponent 6-1 in the first set and closing out the match in straight sets.
  • Despite the strong start, the team was unable to carry the momentum through the rest of singles play. Gonzalez started strong with a 6-0 first set but couldn't hold off a comeback, falling in three sets. Bonnefond also forced a decisive third set after taking the second 6-1, but ultimately came up short against his opponent.

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens stay in search of their first NE10 win as they compete against Southern New Hampshire University on October 18th.
