HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Ravens conceded a power play early in the game. Less than 45 seconds into the penalty kill, Hunter Brackett carried the puck toward the net, capitalized on his own deflection, and scored to secure a 1-0 lead just three minutes into the game.
  • With 6:15 remaining in the first period, Hunter Hoffman unleashed a shot at Raven's goaltender Jeremy Connor (Hazlet, N.J.). Chris Cordeiro was quick to react, collecting the rebound in front of the net and scoring to extend the Hawks' lead to 2-0.
  • Early in the second period, with the Ravens nearing the end of their power play, Wyatt De Lise (York, Maine) passed the puck to Douglas McGuire (Elk Grove Village, Ill.), who blasted a one-timer at the Hawks' goalie and Thomas Perivolotis (LIttleton, Mass.) would be there to tap it in, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
  • At 16:09 in the second period, Steve Armstrong won a faceoff, directing the puck to Richie Colarusso, who fired a wrist shot to score and push the Hawks ahead 3-1.
  • Later in the second period, Phillip Parker (Medfield, Mass.) pounced on a loose puck that the Hawks' defense failed to control, converting the opportunity as the Ravens continued to apply heavy pressure. The goal brought the Ravens within one, making it 3-2 with 11:55 left in the second period.
  • Patrick DeMarinis added a late goal in the second period, capitalizing on a rebound from Luke Linart's shot, further opening the gap.
  • The Hawks extended their lead to 5-2 in the third period when Brackett fed a pass from behind the net to Chase Reynolds, who tapped it in for the goal.
  • Minutes later, Brendan Manning redirected Michael Martignetti's shot from the blue line, slipping it past the Ravens' new goaltender, Theo Jacobs (Hingham, Mass.), to make it 6-2.
  • The Hawks continued their offensive onslaught, with Max Burum and Brackett combining to push the puck past Jacobs as they dismantled the Ravens' defense.
  • With 3:41 remaining, De Lise fired a shot from just inside the offensive zone, beating the Hawks' goaltender and bringing the score to 7-3.
