HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Ravens offense continued to roll at the start of the game, striking first in the 34th minute. Freshman defender Miguel D'Amico (São Paulo, Brazil) sent a beautiful cross into the box for sophomore forward Andy Chisholm (Little Compton, R.I.), who tapped it in the back of the net. The Ravens controlled the remainder of the first half, outshooting the Cougars 8-3 and taking a 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

  • The next 45 minutes proved to be very chaotic. Frank Lozano received his second yellow card of the game in the 74th minute, disqualifying him from the contest. Despite playing with 10 men, the Cougars equalized with a stunner in the 78th minute, tying the game at one a piece. Yigit Kilic fired a beauty off his left foot, tucking it in the right corner and earning a 1-1 tie against the 2-time defending national champions.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:

  • The Ravens outshot the Cougars 21-8.

  • Karl Vernet (Miami, Fl.) earned the tie (2-1-0) in net for the Ravens, making 3 saves.

  • The Ravens had 8 corner kicks, compared to 6 from the Cougars.

  • The Cougars committed 14 fouls compared to 13 from the Ravens.

  • The game was a very chippy affair as the Ravens received 3 yellow cards and the Cougars received 4, including a red card.

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS:  After a mini two game road trip in the Tri-State area, the Ravens return home as they take on the Post Eagles on Sunday night at Sodexo Field in a non-conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 6 PM.
