Gardner, MA (1/13/2024) - Thanks to a three-goal third period, the Franklin Pierce Men's Ice Hockey team flew past intrastate rival Saint Anselm College by a final score of 3-1, splitting the weekend series at Gardner Veterans Ice Arena.

The Hawks dictated the pace of the game early outshooting the Ravens 12-3 in the first period and 22-10 by the 2nd Intermission. Yet, thanks to 12 total blocked shots and great goaltending from sophomore goaltender Jeremy Connor (Hazlet, NJ), the score remained 0-0 entering the third period.

Then, the Ravens struck first in the third period because of a goal scored by sophomore forward Tyson Springer (East Palestine, OH) 6:15 into the period. This lead would be short-lived as the Hawks bounced back with a goal by freshman forward Patrick DeMarinis scored 37 seconds later.

Then, the Ravens quickly answered with another goal just 23 seconds later. This time by senior forward Jackson Dobek (Natick, MA), giving the Ravens a 2-1 lead. The Ravens would hold onto that lead and then on a 5 on 3 powerplay, sophomore forward Devin Rohrich (Pittsburgh, PA) scored the game-clinching goal to propel the Ravens to a 3-1 victory.
