GARDNER, M.A (1/19/2024) -- In a physical game tonight at the Gardner Veterans Arena, the Franklin Pierce men's hockey team prevailed to a 2-0 victory against St. Michael's to take game one of the weekend series.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• In the first period, the Ravens had some early chances against St. Michael's senior goaltender Marshall Murphy. The game remained scoreless heading into intermission.
• With under two minutes remaining in the second period, senior forward Cody Rumsey (York, PA) scored his first goal in nine games to break the tie.
• Less than three minutes into the final period, Rumsey scored his second goal of the night on the power play to give the Ravens a 2-0 lead, and they held on for the win.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS:
• Sophomore goaltender Jeremy Connor (Hazlet, New Jersey) captured his second shutout and fourth win of the season. He made 45 saves.
• Franklin Pierce was 1 for 2 on the power play.
