Freshman Katie Weldon makes four saves in net
FLUSHING, N.Y. (October 7, 2012) -- The Franklin Pierce
University women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw with
Queens College (N.Y.) on Sunday afternoon at Knights Field in
Flushing, N.Y. The Ravens moved to 6-4-2 overall, while the Knights
moved to 7-2-3.
Queens outshot Franklin Pierce,
7-6, including getting a pair of shots during the two overtime
periods, while limiting the Ravens to zero attempts in the extra
sessions.
Freshman forward Hannah
Weagle (Ipswich, Mass.) and junior back Eize
Vieira (Espirito Santo, Brazil) each logged a team-high
two shots for the Ravens, while Nicolette Scrozzo logged a pair of
shots for the Knights.
Franklin Pierce freshman goalkeeper
Katie Weldon (Manchester, N.H.) made four saves to
push her record to 0-1-1 on the season. Allison Breakey stopped two
shots for Queens in net.
Franklin Pierce returns to action
Wednesday when the Ravens travel to face Saint Anselm at 4 p.m. in
Manchester.
