RINDGE, N.H. (April 8,
2009) - Franklin Pierce University closed out its home
schedule with a 9-0 setback to Stonehill College in Northeast-10
Conference men's tennis action this afternoon.
Stonehill dropped just two games in
sweeping through the three doubles matches and never looked back.
Sophomore Tim Fayed (Glastonbury,
Conn./Glastonbury) led the Skyhawks by posting a 6-0, 6-1
victory at No. 1 singles after teaming up with junior
Michael Mashkevich (Framingham, Mass./Framingham)
for an 8-1 decision at first doubles. Mashkevich was also one of
six double-winners for Stonehill, picking up a hard-fought 6-3, 6-1
victory at No. 2 singles against Franklin Pierce sophomore
Adit Phataraprasit (Bangkok, Thailand).
Franklin Pierce (1-8, 1-7 NE-10) is
back in action on Monday when it visits Assumption College at 3:30
p.m. Stonehill (15-3, 8-0 NE-10) is off until next Thursday, April
16, when it hosts Connecticut College at 3:30 p.m.
