Scanlan leads Ravens with three points

Jack Scanlan tallied three points with a goal and two assists
against Bentley on Wednesday afternoon.

RINDGE, N.H. (March 25, 2009) –
Freshman attacker Brendan Grant (Walpole, Mass./Xaverian Brothers)
scored twice and added four assists as he totaled six points on
Wednesday afternoon to lead Bentley to a 14-6 victory over the
Franklin Pierce University men's lacrosse team in
Northeast-10 Conference play at Sodexo Field. Sophomore attacker
Jack Scanlan (Great Neck,
N.Y./Great Neck North) picked up three points on a goal and
two assists for Franklin Pierce in defeat.
Bentley scored the first nine goals of the game, including six
times in the first quarter, and never looked back. Franklin Pierce
would later close with five of the final six goals, including the
only three tallies of the fourth quarter, to create the 14-6
final.
Behind Grant and his six points, Bentley was led by junior attacker
Kevin Gould (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury), who tallied five points with
two assists and a game-best three goals. Sophomore midfielder Troy
Neville (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) and senior attacker Chris Woods
(Duxbury, Mass./Sandwich) also recorded multiple points for the
Falcons, as they finished with three and two points, respectively.
Neville totaled two goals and an assist while Woods added a goal
and an assist. Seven other Bentley players tallied a single goal
each.
Aside from Scanlan, sophomore midfielders Mike Hagerty (Canton, Mass./Canton) and
Jonathan Martinez (Waterbury
Center, Vt./Rice Memorial) each added a pair of points for
Franklin Pierce. Hagerty scored twice, while Martinez dished out
two assists. Three other Ravens each added a goal.
Senior goalkeeper Kris Dambach (Chester, N.J./West Morris Central)
started in goal and picked up the win for Bentley by making three
saves in the first half. Sophomore Shea Campbell (Centerport,
N.Y./Harborfields) made 13 saves for Franklin Pierce in
defeat.
The Ravens (0-5, 0-2 Northeast-10) return to the field on Saturday,
March 28, when they host American International in a Northeast-10
Conference contest. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Sodexo
Field. Bentley (2-1, 1-0 Northeast-10) returns to action on March
28 at home against Saint Michael's.
