Parnell and Buchholz notch double digits for Ravens

Caitlynn Parnell recorded a match-best 12 kills against
Massachusetts Lowell on Tuesday.

RINDGE, N.H. (September 23, 2008)
– Junior Caitlynn Parnell
(Medina, Texas/Medina) tallied a match-high 12 kills on
Tuesday night to lead the Franklin Pierce University volleyball
team to a 3-0 victory over Massachusetts Lowell in non-conference
action at Franklin Pierce's Fieldhouse.
Franklin Pierce was dominant in the first set to earn a 25-9
victory and then closed out the match with 25-22 and 25-21 wins in
the second and third sets, respectively.
Parnell led the way for the Ravens with 12 kills and was joined in
double digits by senior Nicole
Buchholz (Broadlands, Va./Stone Bridge), who notched 11
kills. Both worked primarily off the set of senior Karissa Hookstadt (Camarillo, Calif./Adolfo
Camarillo), who dished out a match-best 39 assists.
Sophomore Chelsie Kohout (Harrison
Township, Mich./L'Anse Creuse) led the defensive
effort with 15 digs while three other Ravens tallied nine digs
each.
Sophomore Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, Calif./Yucaipa) led
Massachusetts Lowell with eight kills on the evening. Junior
Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, Mass./Dracut) set up most of the offense
for the River Hawks with 15 assists. Juniors Allie Eide (Gresham,
Ore./Gresham) and Elsa LeGrand (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain
Vista) each chipped in with eight digs defensively.
The Ravens (7-8, 1-1 NE-10) return to the court on Friday,
September 26, when they host Bridgeport in a non-conference
contest. Match time is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Fieldhouse in
Rindge. Massachusetts Lowell (4-7, 1-3 NE-10) is back in action on
Sept. 25 at Post.
