RINDGE, N.H. (Oct. 23, 2001) - The
Franklin Pierce University volleyball team was defeated by
Merrimack College by a score of 3-0 in Northeast-10 Conference
action this evening.
Merrimack's Lindsey Anstandig led the Warriors' offense with seven
kills. Setting up the attack was Carly Wheeler, who chipped in 36
helpers.
Courtney Desrosiers was an all-around performer for the Warriors,
as she registered 12 digs and served six aces in the win. Rounding
out the bunch was Michelle Sutherland who recorded five blocks.
FPC's Mandy Johnson (Orange,
Mass./Maher Regional) totaled 14 kills and nine digs for the
Ravens. Sophomore setter Bethany
Findley (Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) added 17 assists and
eight digs.
FP (8-9, 4-8 NE-10) returns to action on Saturday, when they travel
to Smithfield, R.I. for the Bryant Halloween Classic. Merrimack
returns to the court on Tuesday, October 30, when it hosts Southern
New Hampshire in a NE-10 matchup at 7 p.m.
