SMITHFIELD, R.I. (Oct. 26, 2001) - The
Franklin Pierce University volleyball team fell to Queens College
and Bryant College 3-0 at the Bryant Halloween Classic this
afternoon.
FP started off the afternoon with a 3-0 loss to Queens College.
Junior Mandy Johnson (Orange,
Mass./Maher Regional) had 13 kills and five digs to lead the
Ravens. Classmate Catrina Cuevas
(Puyallup, Wash./J.J. O'Neill N.Y.) followed with seven
kills and eight digs, while Jamie
Fulwood (Hamilton, Va./Loudoun Valley) registered four
blocks. Setter Bethany Findley
(Clinton, Conn./Morgan School) added 12 assists.
The Ravens followed the match with a 3-0 loss to Bryant College.
Johnson posted another double-digit kill performance, as she
recorded 18 kills, and tallied eight digs and two blocks. Fulwood
totaled two blocks, and Findley dished 14 helpers for the
Ravens.
The Ravens (8-11, 4-8 NE-10) return to the court tomorrow when they
face C.W. Post in their third and final match at the Bryant
Halloween Classic at 10 a.m.
