John Culp

John Culp enters his first year with Franklin Pierce in November 2022, working primarily with the men’s ice hockey and lacrosse, women’s rowing and soccer, and men’s & women’s tennis programs. 

Culp joins Franklin Pierce after serving as the Head Athletic Trainer at American International College. While at AIC he primarily covered men’s ice hockey and women’s tennis but worked with numerous other teams including football during his tenure there.  He oversaw five athletic trainers as well as strength & conditioning personnel.  He implemented many improvements for athletes at AIC such as a new athletic training facility, on campus physician clinics, and neurocognitive testing as part of the concussion management plan.

Prior to working at AIC Culp served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire caring for numerous teams and teaching courses in the CAATE-accredited athletic training education program.  He has also worked as an athletic trainer at Plymouth State University, New England College, SUNY-Cortland, Catalina HS (AZ), and LSU.

Originally from Ohio he has resided in New England since 1990.  He graduated in 1987 from Ohio Northern University majoring in sports medicine, sports management, and health science.  He earned an MS in Exercise & Sports Sciences at the University of Arizona in 1991 from the accredited advanced athletic training education program.
