ST. LEO, Fla. - The Franklin Pierce University women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on the final day of the Triton Invitational on Saturday, falling 3-1 to Georgia College before suffering a 3-0 loss to Henderson State University.
With the losses, the Ravens move to 3-8 on the season.
GAME ONE: Georgia College 3, Franklin Pierce 1
Franklin Pierce opened the day with a 25-22 first-set victory over Georgia College. The Bobcats responded by taking the next three sets, 25-15, 25-19 and 25-18, to secure the match.
Maddie Swanson led the Ravens with a match-high 18 kills while hitting .280. Grace Miller added seven kills, while Ella Glaz finished with six. Giuliana Pamatat directed the offense with 31 assists and added nine digs.
Brook Barkley led the defensive effort with 17 digs. Adrianna Reay contributed nine digs, five kills, four block assists and one solo block.
GAME TWO: Henderson State 3, Franklin Pierce 0
In the second match, Henderson State defeated Franklin Pierce in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-14.
Reay paced the Ravens with 10 kills, while Ivy Armstrong-McEvoy added seven kills on a .267 hitting percentage. Pamatat recorded 28 assists, 13 digs and three service aces, while Mia Contarino collected 12 digs and three aces.
Franklin Pierce returns to action on Tuesday, September 15, for a road match against Southern New Hampshire University beginning at 6 p.m.
