Ravens Fall to Saint Michael’s on the Road

COLCHESTER, Vt. (4/8/2026) - Franklin Pierce baseball fell to Saint Michael's College in NE10 Conference play, 11-6, Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Jamie Leggett picked up his first career start as a Raven, keeping Saint Michael's off the board through the first inning. The Purple Knights took a two run lead in the bottom of the second inning, and tacked on five more through the fifth to extend the lead to 7-0 before the Ravens were able to get on the board.
  • In the fifth inning, Brayden Andruw Centeno hit a sacrifice fly to the right fielder, bringing in the first Ravens run. After holding the Purple Knights scoreless in the bottom of the inning, Franklin Pierce added on another run in the sixth. Nathan Eckerson scored on a double play off the bat of Brycen Tetler, with Rafael Rodriguez Rosa called out for interference and Shane Starr advancing to third, bringing the score to 7-2.
  • The Purple Knights added three more runs in the sixth inning on an RBI double and two RBI home run. 
  • In the seventh inning, Centeno scored on a throwing error by the right fielder after advancing to third base on a Thomas Dillon fly out for the third Ravens run of the day. A single by Dillon in the eighth inning would bring in the next run, scoring Rodriguez Rosa from third base to cut into the 10-4 deficit before the Purple Knights added an eleventh run in the bottom of the inning.
  • A 2RBI home run by Shane Starr in the final inning brought in Nathan Eckerson to finalize the score at 11-6 Saint Michael's.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS

  • Shane Starr led the Ravens offense going 3-5 at the plate with one run and two RBIs.
  • Nathan Eckerson went 2-2 with a the only Franklin Pierce walk of the day and two runs scored.
  • Chase Phillibotte led the Ravens pitching staff going 1.1 innings letting p no hits or runs and striking out two.

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: Franklin Pierce returns to Rindge for their conference series against SNHU on Saturday, April 11. Game one of the four game series is set to start at 12:00 PM.
