Late Rally Closes Season as Ravens Fall at Assumption

WORCESTER, Mass. (04/21/26) – The Franklin Pierce University women's lacrosse team closed out the 2026 season on Tuesday evening, falling 14-9 to Assumption in Northeast 10 Conference action. The Ravens finish the year at 5-11 overall and 1-8 in league play, while the Greyhounds improve to 6-8 overall and 5-4 in the NE10.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Assumption used a fast start to take control early, scoring 10 goals in the opening quarter and adding two more in the second to build a 12-2 halftime lead. 
  • Franklin Pierce got on the board midway through the second quarter as Erin McIlroy (Newfields, N.H.) finished on a pass from Olivia Robb (East Longmeadow, Mass.). Bella Adams (Tyngsborough, Mass.) followed with a free-position goal in the final minute of the half to cut the deficit to 12-2 at the break.
  • The Ravens began to shift momentum in the second half. McIlroy opened the scoring in the third quarter, and Alyssa Brodeur (Boscawen, N.H.) added another goal to make it 14-4 heading into the final frame.
  • Franklin Pierce controlled the fourth quarter, holding Assumption scoreless while scoring five times. McIlroy netted three goals in the period, while Julianna Lanzillo (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Courtney Hannes (Tyngsborough, Mass.) each added free-position tallies. The late push trimmed the final margin to 14-9.

  • Olivia Godwin (Hanson, Mass.) made nine saves in net.

UP NEXT FOR THE RAVENS: Franklin Pierce concludes its 2026 season with Tuesday's contest with a 5-11 overall record and 1-8 in conference play. The Ravens will now turn their attention to the 2027 season.
