McIlroy Reaches 100 Career Points Behind 7 Goals to Put the Ravens Over AIC 24-9

RINDGE, N.H. (3/25/26) - Franklin Pierce women's lacrosse topped American International College in their first home conference game, 24-9, Wednesday afternoon with six multiple goal performances. Strong defense by Dierdre Mullin and Rachel Taylor kept the Ravens ahead.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The first quarter was action-packed, seeing 10 goals across both teams. Despite early opportunities for Franklin Pierce, it was AIC that got on the board first, in the second minute of play. Throughout the next six minutes of play, Erin McIlroy and Courtney Hannes traded goals back and forth, taking the lead 5-1 with just under seven minutes to play in the quarter. McIlroy's second goal of the game would mark her 100th career goal in three seasons for the Ravens. The final three minutes of play saw the teams trade points back and forth. With two man-up Yellow Jackets goals, a man-down Ravens goal by Olivia Robb, and an unassisted goal by Kecli Waters to close out the first period with the Ravens ahead 7-3. 
  • Waters took the first goal of the second quarter, immediately off possession from the draw in the first thirty seconds. The Yellow Jackets added one of their own before the Ravens went on a seven-goal run from McIlroy, Hannes, and Robb over the next six minutes. AIC found their fifth goal in the twelfth minute of the quarter but would be answered with an unassisted goal by Morgan Groppi to go into halftime up 16-5. 
  • Coming out of halftime, Waters added her second goal of the game, followed by Alyssa Brodeur and Maura Cogavin's first of the game, extending the Ravens lead to 19-5. After a sixth Yellow Jackets goals, Sabrina Margaroli found the back of the net on a man-down play for her first career goal. Hannes notched her fifth goal of the game before AIC would score the final goal of the quarter with under a minute on the clock.
  • AIC scored their eighth goal of the game quickly after the start of the fourth quarter, but was answered quickly by McIlroy's seventh goal. The Yellow Jackets notched their ninth and final goal of the game in the seventh minute of the quarter before Cogavin and Margaroli added their seconds goals of the game to finalize the score at 24-9.

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS

  • McIlroy led the Ravens with 9 points on 7 goals and 2 assists, with 15 draw controls and 5 caused turnovers.
  • Cogavin notched 6 points on 2 goals and 4 assists, while Hannes added 5 goals of her own.

  • Franklin Pierce outshot the Yellow Jackets 43-14.
