HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first period of the Regional Semifinal, the Ravens held their own defensively, led by senior goaltender Jill Hertl (Highland Park, Ill.) making 19 saves in the first period,
- Throughout the second period, Hertl continued to make critical saves through the second period and two power play opportunities, giving the Ravens the chance to take the lead.
- Despite a goal scored in the second period but was called back due to offsides, the Bobcats were able to score within the last two minutes of the period, giving them the lead over the Ravens.
- In the third period, Senior Captain Maggie Korneta (Naperville, Ill.) led the offensive strike for the Ravens, recording three shots in the third period.
- However, they were unable to capitalize on any opportunities, and the Bobcats were able to extend their lead with two more goals, falling to Quinnipiac 4-0.
- Despite the loss, the game marks the first NCAA tournament appearance in program history, putting Franklin Pierce in the national spotlight and holding their own against a nationally ranked team.
