HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Assumption opened the day with efficient perimeter shooting, hitting three first-quarter threes to build a 21–12 advantage. Franklin Pierce kept pace early with scoring from Laia Llorente (Madrid, Spain) and Emily Mennillo (Orange, Conn.), along with a triple from Liv Murray (Salem, N.H.).
  • The Ravens generated defensive momentum to start the second quarter, highlighted by a block from Demi Albon (Craigeburn, Austrailua) and a steal from Llorente. However, the Greyhounds responded with a 7–0 run midway through the frame to extend their cushion and take a 35–20 lead into halftime.
  • Franklin Pierce found its rhythm coming out of the break, matching Assumption with 14 third-quarter points. Albon and Murray each knocked down a three, while Mennillo continued to produce offensively inside and out. FPU forced several turnovers in the period, but Assumption maintained a steady double-digit margin heading to the fourth.
