Ravens Drop Game Against Dominican in 8-16 Loss

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (2/15/26) - In the second game of their road trip to California, they were once again unable to get past Dominican University of California, despite a five-goal game for Senior Attacker, Erin McIlroy (Newfields, N.H.). 

Score: Franklin Pierce 8, Dominican 16

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Erin McIlroy (Newfields, N.H.) started the scoring for the Ravens, finding the back of the net shortly into the third, however the Penguins would send four goals past Olivia Godwin (Hanson, Mass.). 
  • The Ravens would cut the deficit in half as Maura Cogavin (Franklin, Mass.) and Julianna Lanzillo (Chelmsford, Mass) would score. In the second period though, McIlroy would only score once, while Dominican was able to get past the Ravens defense, going into halftime up 10-4. 
  • With three more goals from McIlroy and one from Kelci Waters (Milford, N.H.) in the second half of the game, the Ravens were unable to make a comeback, falling to the Penguins 16-8. 

BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS 

  • Godwin made 6 saves. 
  • McIlroy led the team with 7 shots on goal. 
  • The Penguins outshot the Ravens 36 to 28. 

NEXT UP FOR THE RAVENS: The Ravens return to New Hampshire for a scrimmage with Keene State College on Friday, February 20th before their first home game against D'Youville on February 25th.
