MANCHESTER, N.H. (2/14/26) – The Franklin Pierce University women's basketball team showed early fight and fourth-quarter resilience on Saturday afternoon, but a strong first-half push by Saint Anselm proved decisive in a 74–49 Northeast 10 setback at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Ravens opened the contest with strong energy on both ends, briefly taking an 8–5 lead midway through the first quarter behind second-chance finishes from Demi Albon (Craigeburn, Austrailia) and an inside bucket from Emily Mennillo (Orange, Conn.). Saint Anselm answered with a late first-quarter surge to take a 23–12 advantage after ten minutes of play.
  • In the second quarter, the Hawks capitalized on turnovers and efficient shooting to extend their lead. Despite steady work on the glass and a three-pointer from Angelisse Melendez (North Providence, R.I.), Franklin Pierce trailed 39–19 at the halftime break.
  • Out of the locker room, the Ravens showed renewed intensity. Mennillo converted in the paint early in the third, while Hijjah Allen-Paisley (Dorchester, Mass.) added a strong finish and a three-pointer to spark the offense. However, Saint Anselm responded with a late run to push the margin to 59–32 heading into the fourth quarter.
  • Franklin Pierce turned in its most productive offensive stretch in the final period, scoring 17 points. Mennillo continued to attack downhill, and Allen-Paisley connected again from beyond the arc as the Ravens competed through the final buzzer. Despite the improved finish, the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
BREAKING DOWN THE NUMBERS
  • Emily Mennillo led the Ravens with 16 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
  • Hijjah Allen-Paisley finished with nine points, while Demi Albon contributed eight points and seven rebounds.
  • Franklin Pierce totaled 35 rebounds and scored 17 second-chance points, continuing to generate opportunities on the offensive glass.
